Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 12, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how QuickQR (https://toolupgo.com/qr), operated by Lu Yang, operating ToolUp, uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (as implemented in national law) and UK PECR, we must obtain your consent before storing or accessing non-essential cookies and similar technologies on your device, except where strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. Local storage stores data in your browser. Pixels / beacons are scripts that send usage signals. Together, we refer to these as “cookies” where they identify or relate to your device or browser.
2. QR generation without optional cookies
Creating, customizing, and downloading QR codes works without analytics or advertising cookies. Your QR content remains in your browser and is not uploaded to our servers.
3. How we obtain consent
On your first visit (when no prior choice is stored), we display a cookie banner with:
- Accept all — you consent to non-essential cookies: analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics and product event beacons, if enabled) and advertising (Google AdSense).
- Reject non-essential — we do not load analytics beacons or AdSense scripts. Strictly necessary cookies may still be used.
Your choice is stored in local storage as qq_consent (accepted or rejected). You can withdraw consent by clearing site data for our domain or contacting us.
4. Cookie categories
| Category | Purpose | Consent required? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, CDN delivery, bot protection, consent storage | No (ePrivacy exemption) |

6. Google AdSense (advertising cookies)
When you Accept non-essential cookies:
- We load scripts from
pagead2.googlesyndication.com. - Google may use cookies to deliver, personalize, or measure ads depending on your region and Google settings.
- Ads appear only in designated page areas, not inside the QR preview.
When you Reject non-essential, AdSense scripts and ad cookies are not loaded by our site.
Manage Google ad personalization: Google Ads Settings. EU users may also use Your Online Choices (EU).
7. Analytics cookies
Analytics runs only after you Accept. We collect aggregated page views and non-identifying product events. We do not include QR payload or feedback message content in analytics events.
8. How to manage cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Cookie banner: Choose Accept all or Reject non-essential on your first visit.
- Cookie settings: Use the Cookie settings link in the site footer at any time to reopen the banner and change your choice.
- Browser settings: Block or delete cookies — see guides for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
- Clear site data: Removes
qq_consentand shows the banner again.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect security features (for example Turnstile on the feedback form).
9. Changes
We will update this Cookie Policy when our technologies or legal requirements change. Check the “Last updated” date above. Material changes to non-essential cookies may require renewed consent where mandated by law.
